Apple to Show New iPhones September 9, But It’s This Date That Really Matters

Apple’s iPhone Dates and Don’t Forget About Amazon
Late last week, chatter pointed to the debut date for Apple’s AAPL iPhone 16 being September 10. Well, now we have the word from the horse’s mouth and that means the official date for Apple taking the wraps off its iPhone 16 models and a few other products is… September 9. One day earlier than expected, but the real question we’re contemplating is what this means for the speculated September 20 date for these phones to hit shelves. While it may not be the biggest deal in the world, if Apple can pull that date forward by roughly one week it would mean having the new models on sale for half of September. That’s about one-sixth of the quarter and could mean the difference between Apple reporting a good September quarter and a better-than-expected one.
As we update our calendars for Apple’s event and other upcoming ones (see below) let’s also mark the following dates down and pencil in that Amazon AMZN will hold an October Big Deal Day event this year. Last year’s Prime Big Deals Day, which pulled forward holiday shopping similar to how the summer Prime Day event does the same for Back to School shopping, was held October 10-11, days before Amazon reported its September-quarter results.
