Expecting Another Positive Report

This semiconductor has exceeded expectations for each of the last eight quarters and we maintain our One rating on the stock.

Model portfolio name TriQuint Semiconductor (TQNT) is scheduled to announce quarterly results after today's close of trading. This Alert is a preview of the company's numbers and we're not recommending any trades for the model portfolio.

The consensus analyst estimates call for TriQuint to lose $0.13 a share in the first quarter, down from a profit of $0.02 in the previous year on $185.6 million of revenue. Management has met or exceeded profit expectations for each of the last eight quarters. That said, the company remains leveraged to slower growth at its largest customer, Apple (AAPL) .

TriQuint will host a conference call at 4:30 p.m. EDT that investors can access at 888-813-6582, using the passcode 24313821. Even though management doesn't mention Apple (or any of its customers) by name, that relationship will likely be the main topic of discussion on the conference call. We'll also listen for any plans that TriQuint might have for its cash hoard.

Ahead of the numbers, we maintain our One rating on the stock, which is currently trading at $4.89. We believe the company remains attractively valued, as the stock is trading at a discount to tangible book value.
